The bags are made in Dakar, Senegal. Each bag bears the name of a family member or close friend, such as Anima and Iris--Wilglory's childhood best buddies.

While a majority of luxury brands focus on promoting their European heritage, Anima Iris centers African tradition and history in its designs. Alongside their stylish bags, the company also donates a percentage of profits to organizations that help women of color.
